Where should I site the Heat Pump?
2013-12-20
A Heat Pump is powered by electricity and therefore does not require a
vent or flue. It's positioning is therefore very versatile. Most people
put the internal unit of a Ground Source Heat Pump in a utility room or
garage. The Air Source Heat Pump is an external unit with an indoor
water cylinder and control panel. The external unit is usually placed
near a wall, but can be set away from the property. It can be fixed to
the ground on a solid platform, or wall mounted with special brackets.
An Air Source Heat Pump must have at least 1metre clearance to the front
and 30cms behind, in order for air circulation.
